Financial Letter from Fr John

Financial Report to Parishioners

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

It is with great pleasure I present to you the Financial Report of St. Barbara Church for the year ended, June 30, 2018. The finances of the parish are overseen by your Finance Council.  I rely on this council for guidance and direction and I am thankful for their faith-filled stewardship of your donations.  Our finances are audited every three years at the direction of the Diocese, but in the interim your Finance Council serves that role, meeting each quarter, scrutinizing all transactions.  I am also thankful for the leadership of our Business Consultant, Mr. Anthony Depenbrock, who directed our fiscal operations.

After 3 months removed from the parish I am grateful that St. Barbara was able to run smoothly on its own through the guidance of Deacon Melville and our dedicated staff.

I am pleased that we are finally moving forward to address our storage needs. It is our hope this will be sufficient for many years to come.  Because of your regular support and gifts we were able to construct the facility without the need for a special capital campaign.  By continuing your pledge payments and with your additional gifts to our building fund we are replenishing our depleted savings account.

The spirit of volunteerism is the hallmark of St. Barbara Parish. We accomplish much at minimal cost because you do the work.  For instance, the church is thoroughly cleaned each weekend by a dedicated team.  Our Friday morning Spare Time Parishioners accomplish many tasks; keeping our facilities neat and up-to-date.  Our St. Vincent DePaul Society reaches hundreds of families in need with support and consolation.

Our membership continues to grow and on Sunday I continue to see new faces. Our United Catholic Movement is still very active.  There are many reports of families finding their way to the church.  It is important that all regular mass attendees be registered members so that you may avail yourself to the benefits of membership.  Please use your envelopes and electronic receipts so that we know you are here.  If you have not registered, please do so now.  If you have any questions or need help in any way, please call our office, 371-3100.

In my daily prayer, I ask God to give us guidance, to show us the path, we, as His people, should take to build up His kingdom here at St. Barbara. I am ever thankful to you for your support of me and your financial gifts to our parish.  You allow God to work through you to accomplish His wonderful works.  Be assured of my prayers for you and I ask that you remember me in your prayers.

Yours gratefully in the Lord,

Fr. John
